The job journey. Unfiltered.

How did I get here? The last 20 years of work have been an adventure.
I honestly thought that my career adventure would end at the same company where it began. So many people at my old job loved their jobs so much that they stayed there for their whole careers.
My restlessness and desire for more than I was doing developed over the past year. After months of deliberation, I finally decided to leave my job without having anything waiting for me in the wings. Together, my partner and I made the decision to take the scary leap.
So now what?
“I'm sitting here. Creating. This is what I do best.”
This is what I do best. I was inspired as I was putting my resume together to be unfiltered about this process, which has become amazingly liberating.

What did I do?
“The moment that I walked out of my office, I sat in my car and cried.”
I don't know why. It was emotional. After that, I proceeded to accidentally lock my keys in the car and spent $140 to have a locksmith get them out. Then I cried some more.
The next day felt strange. I had a list a mile long of errands and house projects that I'd put on the back burner while I focused on my marketing dreams. I thought it would be a good week to start knocking some things off the list. Day one, I spent hours wandering around Target, throwing things in my cart. On day two, I deep cleaned my house and repaired the curtains that had fallen down a year before. On day three, my mom came over and helped me organize my things. And now today. I'm getting my new website set up, thejobjourney.com.
Limitless Creativity
I'm excited to start this journey to find a job that is a perfect fit for me and my prospective employer.
I know many things about myself. I'm a marketer who aspires to be a leader and inspire others by utilizing my limitless creativity. I know all of this is possible, so join me on my job journey, and if you're on yours, share what's working and what you're learning.
Who am I?
